Local lithium companies have appointed Bikita Minerals Managing Director Xuedong Gong as the new Chairperson of Lithium Producers Association under the Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe.
The Lithium miners overwhelmingly endorsed Xuedong Gong at a meeting held in Harare, month ago. Entities involved in the initiative include Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe, Sabi Star Mine, Gwanda Lithium, Sinomine Bikita Minerals, Kamativi Lithium, Bravura, Kuvimba and Global Lithium Resources.
The Lithium Producers Association is an affiliate of Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe, and its mandate is to enhance communication between the lithium miners and local stakeholders including the Government while safeguarding the rights and interests of its members.
Mr. Gong has 23 years of experience in mining and smelting engineering project management and production management in the non-ferrous metal industry. He is a professor-level senior engineer and holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelors in Engineering, among many other certificates and qualifications that he attained throughout his career.
