Bikita Minerals has received applauds from Government for its ongoing contributions to economic and infrastructure development and employment creation in Masvingo Province.
This was said by the Minister of state and Provincial Affairs for Masvingo Province Honorable Ezra Chadzamira, during the stakeholder meeting that was held at Bikita Minerals this week, he visited the site with the Joint Operation Committee members, several government departments.
“Let’s continue to engage we are happy with the development you have made. Thank you for the future project, the lithium sulphate plant valued at US$500 million and US$35 million for the pollucite plant, “he said.
Chadzamira was impressed by the relationship between the Chief and the company on the employment of locals at the company.
Mr Chadzamira said the target for Masvingo Province is $8 billion and the mining sector is earmarked to contribute more than other sectors. The Province has more than 16 minerals that include lithium, gold, manganese, chrome, asbestos, diamonds and many more.
He added that Vision 2030 is not just for rhetoric but it is for the Province to work hard, be productive and achieve the set targets.
Bikita Minerals Chief Engineer for SQI6 and cesium, Mr Zhou Suyang said the company was happy to host the Minister and his team and appreciates the role Government plays in creating and maintaining a conducive business environment.

The Minister and his team toured Bikita’s new Pollucite plant that is at the commissioning stage, Bikita Minerals Clinic and the New Masarasara Village that was constructed by the company to accommodate its employees. Bikita employs 1 460 employees directly and over 1000 employees through its contractors indirectly strengthening its role as a major economic player in the Province.
